What is 3D/4D Scan?

2D scanning is used for most ultrasound scans where such scans offer most of the necessary information to the doctor. However, 3D and 4D scans are now becoming more common and popular. The 3D scan digitally reconstructs the 2D images to produce life-like images in three dimensions. In 4D, the 3D images move in real time. We call the 3D/4D scan as keepsake ultrasound scan. So we welcome you to bring along your family members to share this joyful moment as we take a peep into your womb to see what your unborn child is doing !

Why do you need 3D/4D Scan?

Parents, particularly the mothers, are naturally thrilled by the idea of seeing the first images of their child. They are excited by the joyous prospect of their first scan. The 2D scan images are no more than a grey, blurry outline but 3D and 4D scans facilitate the seeing of the skin. This makes it possible to see the outline of the baby’s mouth and nose. The parents can see the movements like kicking, yawning and sticking out of the tongue. They can have a debate on whom the child looks like! The 3D ultrasound technology is used mostly for seeing what the unborn baby looks like, or to find out whether it is a boy or a girl, while 4D gives you the moving images of your baby.
